Today was a long day. We were at the airport at 7:30 AM for a test flight to determine our handicap. Interesting experience, Sonia flew with the ‘tester' in the right seat and Heidi Moore and Tamra in the back ( we needed to fly at gross weight). They calculated for outside temp and 29.92 altimeter to determine that we needed to fly @ 5100 feet, then flew a NWSE box with timings every 20 seconds to average the scores on each leg. Any way we won't be given the final results until tomorrow.

This was followed by a safety briefing about avoiding runway incursions for the whole group, lunch, a weather briefing, and finally a briefing of each airport for fly-by and timing instructions. By the time we finished we were saturated!!!

Had a nice dinner at Hour Times with a bunch of the other racers.

It's going to be an early morning again tomorrow, need to be at the airport at 6 AM for breakfast, a weather briefing and pre-flight, and 8 AM Take Off. Should be interesting, all 40 airplanes departing 30 seconds apart!!!
